Biography

Gonzalo Vazquez Vilar studied Telecommunications Engineering, with major in Information and Communications Technology, at the University of Vigo (Spain) obtaining the Spanish Gobernment Prize for excelent 1999-2004 graduates.
This degree has been complemented with an exchange program in 2005 at the University of Applied Sciences of Saarbruecken (Germany), with major in Electronics Technology. In 2006 he joined Siemens AG (Germany) involved in a project of design and construction of a photovoltaic power plant. In this period he adquired professional skills in both technichal and business aspects.
The formation in Wireless comunications has been broaded with a Master of Science Degree at Stanford University (US) in the academic year 2007-2008, awarded with the scholarship "Pedro Barrie de la Maza". In 2010 he spent three months in the Signal Processing and Communications Lab at the University of Cambridge (UK), working in the field of finite length coding. In 2011 he received his PhD degree with honors from the University of Vigo in the topic of Cognitive Radio networks.
Currently he is a Research Associate in the Dep. of Information & Communication Technologies at the University Pompeu Fabra (Spain).
